About the Hot SEALs Kindle World

With years of dedication to the Navy, SEAL Jon Rudnick and his teammates have confirmed one thing – they are not afraid to risk life and limb for their country. But when navigating military red tape begins to present more challenges than the enemy, this band of combat-hardened veterans is divided. While some remain actively serving, others take their drive, skills, and expertise to the private sector, where they form GAPS (Guardian Angel Protection Services). In these roles, will the SEALs fight for the women they love with the same vigor they use to seek out enemy threats? Which battlefield will you have them face next?

My SEAL Bodyguard by Paige Tyler

12510457_10207785589893665_8525181240548750378_nShe writes about danger for a living and now she find herself in it. Only a Navy SEAL can save her.

When someone breaks into romance author Peyton Matthews’ Virginia Beach home to steal her newest manuscript, her publisher hires Noah Chase, a former Navy SEAL and the newest member of GAPS to be her bodyguard.

Peyton thinks the idea of needing a bodyguard is ridiculous, but she can’t help appreciating how gorgeous Noah is. And while she thought that having a stranger hanging around 24/7 would mess with her creativity, the Navy SEAL definitely comes in handy when she’s choreographing fight scenes. All that hand-to-hand action and rolling around on the floor with him gets her pulse racing, but while Noah is falling for Peyton too, he doesn’t act on it. He needs to keep his head in the game and focus on the job or he could end up getting her killed. She might not think she’s in danger, but his gut tells him differently.

The threat to Peyton is closer to home than she realizes however, and it will take all of Noah’s SEAL training to save her life.

Maryann Jordan - I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I “cut my romance teeth” on the old bodice ripper romance books. Last year I started a blog to showcase wonderful writers. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma’s Home was created.

I work as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 32 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

Marissa Dobson - Born and raised in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, Marissa Dobson now resides about an hour from Washington, D.C. She’s a lady who likes to keep busy, and is always busy doing something. With two different college degrees, she believes you are never done learning.

Being the first daughter to an avid reader, this gave her the advantage of learning to read at a young age. Since learning to read she has always had her nose in a book. It wasn’t until she was a teenager that she started writing down the stories she came up with.

Marissa is blessed with a wonderful supportive husband, Thomas. He’s her other half and allows her to stay home and pursue her writing. He puts up with all her quirks and listens to her brainstorm in the middle of the night.

Her writing buddy Cameron (a cocker spaniel) is always around to listen to her bounce ideas off him. He might not be able to answer, but he’s helpful in their own ways.

Donna Michaels - It’s all my mother’s fault. She read to me before I could read and opened up that magical world where I still reside today. Then came television and movies. Now I had three avenues that fed my imagination…and boy could I eat! As you no doubt figured out, this lead to my writing career. I’m a NY Times, USA Today, and Amazon Bestselling Award winning author. Phew, that was a mouthful! Multi-published in e-book and print with several publishers, I certainly have a ton of voices in my head.

I’m happily married to a military man for 28 years. We have four children and several rescued cats. Michael’s been in the Army National Guard since before he graduated. The Guard has been a part of our lives right from the start. It was only natural for the military to spill into my writing. God bless the military and their families. Thank you all for your sacrifices.

You already know my mom inspired my love of reading, but it was my dad who got me hooked on movies. Even now, if I had the time, I could happily go from one movie to another all day long. They are the reason I love mixed genre and why I can’t just stick to just one in my writing, although, as you can tell, I have a soft spot for cowboys and the military.

Well, that’s about it. Thanks for getting to know me a little better. Remember, keep reading to your children. The journey you’re igniting is precious. And the next time you’re at the movies, turn around. I just might be the person sitting behind you. No, not the one throwing popcorn (it’s too expensive to waste). I’m the one already imagining the sequel. Have a great day and thanks for reading!

KaLyn Cooper - Born and raised in a small town in New York close to the Pennsylvania line, we water skied in the summer months on the lake and snow skied all winter. One a cold January night while clomping through the lodge I literally ran smack into the man I'd eventually marry. His high school was ninety-six miles from mine but we made the long-distance relationship work.

While I was at Penn State, he went to the United States Naval Academy and chose the Marines upon graduation. I followed him throughout his military career living on Army, Air Force and Marine Corps bases, making sixteen moves and meeting some of the most wonderful people in the world.

Working in Public Relations all over the country and in Japan, I've written for international, regional and local corporations, non-profits and was a ghost writer. I won national awards for travel and tourism books and ghost written several self-help books but I hadn't written fiction since college.

When we moved to East Tennessee for the second time, we built our house-and I mean we, my husband, our son and I-built this house from the studs in. As I hung insulation, painted, tiled and planted, I plugged into audio books and discovered I really enjoyed romantic suspense. In the evenings I read romance novels. By the time the house was ready for occupancy, I'd read over 300 books, mostly in the romance genre and suspense.

One night while my husband was working out of the country, I sat at the computer and started writing a book. I entered it in several writing contests and learned a lot from the critiques. I met romance writer Deborah Grace Staley who helped me tremendously. She told me my 125,000-word tome wasn't one book but three and none were the first in what has become The Black Swan series.

I attended many conferences and craft workshops over the next year while pitching every chance I got. The Black Swan series garnered interest and notice enough to convince Emily Kim, owner of Prospect Agency, to become my agent. When I'd finished Explosive Combination, it had gained a life of its own in the Romantic Suspense genre. Emily and I separated it from the Black Swan series, which is in the Contemporary Romance category, and I sold Explosive Combination to Liquid Silver Books in November 2013. The first of the Black Swan Series should come out in 2016.

In December 2014, Christmas In Cancun was published by Liquid Silver, the first of a new series of Romantic Suspense books based in Cancun, Mexico. In April 2015 I self-published Conquered in Cancun followed by Captivated in Cancun in January 2016. I was honored to be invited to write in Cat Johnson's Hot SEAL Kindle World and wrote Claimed by a SEAL - Cancun Crossover novella 2.5 released January 2016.

I have been married to the same man for over thirty-seven years. Our two children are grown but our son lives with us. Our daughter and her husband blessed us with a granddaughter a few years ago.

I still read over 100 books a year, mostly audio books, and write every day.

An avid reader of science fiction/fantasy, her husband gave her a paranormal romance for Christmas one year, and she was hooked for good.

In previous lives, Siobhan has been an actor at the Colorado Renaissance Festival, a field geologist in the Aleutian Islands, and restored inter-planetary imagery at the USGS. She’s hiked to the top of Mount St. Helens and to the bottom of Meteor Crater.

Before she could make another foolish mistake, Aeley rushed from the room. The night was nothing like she had planned and not what she needed.

"Ae!"

Aeley did not stop. The sound of heavy boots pounded the stone floor behind her.

The steps slowed as Mayr caught up. "Seriously, that's it?" he asked. "That's how you thought you'd get out of that?"

"I have something to do."

Mayr snorted. "Right, just as much as I believe it, I'm sure." He poked her hand. "Just as much as I know this thing isn't nothing. You went almost white when you read it. What's it say?"

"It says you need to mind your own."

"Aren't you just the joy of the Four Goddesses?"

"Mayr—"

"No. Unless you're going to tell me what this is, you don't get to use my first name. It's Head Guard if you're going to just lie to me."

Aeley stopped in the middle of the corridor and sighed.

"I'm not giving this up so you can stop with the sighing and the huffing, and don't even begin stamping your foot." Wrapping one hand around her elbow, Mayr's tender grip helped keep her steady. "I've known you since we were kids. Don't make me steal that thing. I know something's wrong and you're being stubborn. Again."

She considered her options. It was better if no one else knew what was happening. To have received the summons in front of her guests was humiliating enough. She did not have to share the details.

But Mayr was not a guest. He already knew the truth of what had happened in Oly Valley. He had been there by her side, making sure she returned home alive. What harm could there be in telling him the fight was not yet over?

I owe him that much. And he didn't say a word in front of anyone. He could've, but he didn't. He deserves to know. "Come on." Aeley pulled him through the halls to her study and pushed him into the room before slamming the door. On the way to her desk, she tossed the scroll at him.

"What? You're going to make me read it?"

"Always something," Aeley grumbled and spun around. "They want me to go there, to Council, to watch him receive his ultimate judgment. They'd said I wouldn't."

Mayr leaned against the wall. "No, they said you possibly wouldn't. You slipped in that extra—"

"Mayr!"

He threw up his hands. "Fine. If it bothers you that much, don't go."

"I can't," Aeley said resignedly. "The Councilmen are expecting me to be there to help them put Allon away permanently. He's a danger to everyone. His men caused so much damage. I hear some of the children they captured are still terrified. That isn't how I want things to be. We can't disappoint them and let him off easily."

"So then go."

"I don't want to."

"Ae, choose one." His tone softened as he approached her. "I'll back you on any decision, but you're going to have to choose one. Either you're the perfect Tract Steward or you hide. Of course, if you hide, Allon wins, and then what good is your superiority?"

Part of her wanted to throw the decanter at his head. Just when she thought he was being sweet, he hit her with the blunt truth.

"Don't say it. You hate me."

"You have no idea," Aeley muttered.

Review: Plump & Pretty

Plump & Pretty Plump & Pretty by Mary E Thompson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Riley had a crush on Conner in high school. He was the jock and popular and she was the overweight nerd with her head stuck in a book. 11 years later she sees him at her friends wedding. After asking her to dance and then all but running out she figured he still went after the skinny well built women.
Riley is great. I loved her in the other books and was glad she got her own story. She was down to earth and had some of a self image issue but she really didn't dwell on it. Conner comes off as a jerk in the beginning and you almost hope someone else comes into Riley's life. Slowly the real Conner emerges and you can't help feeling for the guy and falling in love ( or is it lust) with him

Blog Tour:Lipstick and Camouflage by Frances Stockton

Lipstick and Camoflage - tour header1
Lipstick and Camouflage (Brandt’s Dozen, Book One)
by Frances Stockton
WLK synopsis
FS_LipstickAndCamouflage_400x600
Security specialist Travis Blake’s undercover assignment should be easy. The former Navy SEAL has to protect Cassidy O'Neal from an elusive assassin. Yet, nothing about this case is simple.
For Cassidy, it’s easier to believe in ghosts than to think she’s in danger. Despite a series of unusual happenings around her apartment that make her feel uneasy, she has no idea her hot new neighbor is far more than he seems.
What starts off as simple flirtation quickly turns passionate. But, as danger intensifies, more than just their hearts are on the line.

WLK excerpt
Maybe Justin was the reason she was so jumpy lately. He’d not exactly left that night with a smile and she’d wondered if he’d come back and try again.
Or, maybe it was something else, something unexplained. Ever since she’d gone to Salem and took Mike Smith’s place as the lead cameraman in a ghost hunt, something had been off kilter about her apartment and the building itself. Granted, they’d caught some amazing EVPs that night, but the experienced investigators in her group, Jerome and Sam, concluded what they’d caught on audio was residual and non-threatening.
If it wasn’t Justin Myers or a ghost, maybe it was that surveyor who’d staked out the neighborhood. He’d claimed to be doing a favor for a friend looking to move into the area and open a new business. She hadn’t believed him. That man had an aura about him that was mysterious and dark, maybe dangerous. She’d run him off, and as far as she knew, he’d not returned.
Frustrated, she snapped her book closed and set it aside, going over to check the last load of laundry for the day. Being Friday, she’d worked a half day and had plans to do laundry, eat rocky road ice cream for dinner, and continue reading Edmond’s tale of revenge, justice, and romance until he skewed his best friend with a sword.
Okay, she’d read the book a couple of times. Next week, she’d open up The Three Musketeers and have four book boyfriends, though her personal favorite was Aramis.
Yeah, like anything that exciting would happen to her, but one could dream a tale of fiction even if her day job wasn’t exactly the same as a French sailor’s false imprisonment or Musketeers saving a king from a treacherous cardinal.
Taking a moment to switch up her music, she chose her classic rock playlist and increased the volume, singing, well, mostly humming until her favorite line, “We were making it,” came out loud and clear.
As if it mattered how badly she was singing while pulling bras and panties out of the dryer and tossing them into the hip-hugging basket on the floor beneath the machine.
Slamming the dryer door home and picking up her basket, she turned to go back to where she’d been sitting when movement caught her eye. Whipping around, she saw a tall, impressively built man standing in the doorway, as if he’d stepped right out of the pages of one of her novels.
A heartbeat later, he came toward her, proving he was no figment of her active imagination and seeming to get bigger with every step. Unsure what to do, Cassidy threw her basket at him and rushed for the door, getting less than two feet before her bare foot caught his boot and she went tumbling.

My love for storytelling began in kindergarten when I created my first fictional characters. Though I’d given them simple nicknames, I’d convinced my family that Red Henry and Green Henry were identical twin brothers in my elementary school.
They were mischievous, rarely did their homework, had trouble with math and spelling, experienced heartbreaking losses, and yes, they even had girlfriends!
It wasn’t until the Henry twins mysteriously moved to a different state that my family realized that they were entirely fictitious and my mother suggested I write the stories down.
A few years later, I began to write, completing my first manuscript at age thirteen. I confess the heroine was a cross between Nancy Drew and a contemporary Laura Ingalls Wilder, who happened to be dating one of the Hardy Boys. But when I’d written ‘the end’ on the very last page, I’d known I had more stories to tell. Of course life intervened, but whether I was in high school, becoming part of a local theater and dance company, working as a Veterinary Technician, earning a degree in History and Secondary Education, or teaching, I was always writing and reading romances.
Finally, I met and married the love of my life and moved from Maryland to Massachusetts in 2001. Shortly after, I proudly joined Romance Writers of America and the New England Chapter, and I’ve been writing faithfully ever since.

image5Sometimes the things we fight hardest against are inevitable in the end.
Hunter Stevenson wasn't interested in wasting nights with bed warmers, he had a daughter to take care of and a life to build. Leaving behind the mother of his four year old child and her incessant partying, Hunter moves closer to his family to help provide Sawyer some stability.
Tessa Daniels didn’t share the ‘typical American dream’ like most girls. A husband, 2.5 kids and a white picket fence weren’t the things she wanted for herself. She had a plan laid out, which included a career in the Navy and being surrounded by her best friends. She was perfectly content with her carefree, fun lifestyle and her casual relationships, but all of that changed when she met him.
What neither of them expected was a nosy brother and best friend with some serious matchmaking skills. The two have an instantaneous pull towards one another, they can’t fight the spark even though they both do. Until one drunken night, Tessa throws herself at Hunter, only to face an agonizing rejection. However, Hunter’s gentlemanly facade doesn’t last with the sassy sailor girl, his alpha attitude quickly emerges in the midst of their sexual tensions.
Hunter refuses to be another one of Tessa’s casual hook-ups, and won’t allow her to run away from the idea of ‘them’. No matter how many obstacles stand in their way of a happily ever after. Now he must convince Tessa that their inevitable love is worth fighting for.
Can their newfound love survive the stress of an impending deployment and Hunter's past pushing it's way back into his life?

This girl has completely wrecked me. I'd love nothing more than to pick her up and carry her back to my house and never let her leave. Damn her career. Damn this deployment. I just want to be with her.

HRasinfuleducation-1Lord Charles Avonlea has evaded marriage over the last year, but his mother is determined to find him a wife. Far from consenting to any of her choices, he sets his sights on the one woman unavailable to him, his best friend's younger sister. With no regard for the law or her impending nuptials, he is determined to make Lady Emily Thompson his bride. The only trouble is, he’s stumbled upon dangerous information and hopes he can get to her before it’s too late.
Stunned and dismayed at discovering the arrangement between her mother and the Duke of Downsbury, Lady Emily Thompson searches for a way to break the marriage pact with the duke. She longs to be with the only man who indulges her curiosity, yet finds herself in the middle of a scandal that will crush her dreams forever.
Will she find a way to get out of marrying the duke, or will she find herself in the same predicament as the previous duchess?

Excerpt:

Emily gently closed her chamber door and swept down the hall, pausing outside of his room. The glow of the fireplace danced across the floor under the door, but all was silent. Perhaps he was reading from the privacy of the curtained platform bed or standing in the window, basking in the view the west side of the manor offered.
She quietly opened his door and closed it behind her.
No one stirred, nor made a sound.
She took a step forward, parting her lips to call for him.
A soft moan caught her attention and uncertainty crept up her spine. She should not have proceeded, but went on to appease her curiosity. Stealing further into the room, she paused in the corner.

She caught sight of his lordship through the break of the curtains. Charles’ eyes were closed, chest exposed as his hand moved beneath the sheet barely covering his waist. Lord, he’s a sight to watch, but what exactly is he doing?
Emily moved closer, but could not make head or tails of his motions. That is, until he called out, “Emily.”
He moaned, then kicked off his sheets.
Good heavens, the sight of him was impressive. Dark, curly hair dusted his chest. His muscles so refined that the creases begged her to touch them. Dampness settled between her thighs again. What the hell is wrong with me? Did he just moan out my name?
She could see clearly now as he stroked his manhood.
Emily gasped and stepped back, bumping into a chair. Drats!

Avonlea opened his eyes.
She lost all sense of what she had stumbled upon. She should not have been there, no matter how glorious or how beautiful he looked with his eyes closed, or how impressive his body appeared. She would land straight in purgatory for this sin and many others, but she stood at the edge of the platform still.

Charles reached for the sheet to cover himself, as he should, but Emily could not help but feel disappointed at the act of modesty. “You should not be here, young lady. What sort of devil are you, for sneaking upon a bachelor’s room as such?”

1. Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m 28 years old and reside in New England with my husband, daughter and American Eskimo dog. Everyone says I seem to always be holding a book in my hands. I love all genres, but I have a soft spot for Romantic Suspense and Psychological Thrillers.

During the day I am a College Professor. I teach primarily Psychology but recently started teaching Women Empowerment as well. It is great to mold the minds of others and inspire women to reach their dreams and empower each other!

My passion, though, is getting into the minds of people and writing has allowed me that outlet. Holding my degree in Forensic Psychology has unearthed an obsession with serial killers which once you read any of my books you can see that I take getting into the minds of my killers to an entirely different level.

2. What inspired you to write your first book?
I had this story nagging at me for some time. I just didn’t have the “time”, or think that I could write it. I was working FT as a college professor and just entered my PhD program and I was so stressed out. You would think that I would have less time working FT, taking care of my daughter, husband etc. and going back to school but I started writing Beautiful Masterpiece and found writing was so therapeutic and helped ease my stress and anxiety levels while in school.

3. How did you come up with the title of Beautiful Masterpiece?
It directly correlates to the book. You’ll have to read it to find out J

4. Describe your main character in five words.
I’m going to describe Liam because he holds a soft spot in my heart
-Tormented
-Loyal
-Violent
-Sexual
-Hot

5. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in writing Beautiful Masterpiece?
How much I really loved writing. I’ve always written in some capacity for work or school but it wasn’t for me. It wasn’t to release the stories inside of my head! Now I can’t stop and I love it!

6. How long does it take you to write a book?
It depends. Beautiful Masterpiece took me about a year just because I did it in bits and pieces as I had time while finishing my PhD. I find about a month or two if I really dedicate my extra time to it.

7. Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Avery Grant’s story is up next for the Thin Red Lines Series. I’ve been asked whether the other characters will be in it and yes J It is just primarily told in Avery’s perspective and a new male character. And of course, as always, we will be in the killer’s head as well. Here’s an unedited snip-it:

“What are you going to do to me?” Her wide eyes glistened with tears.
“I am going to set you free.” I brushed her hair out of her face as it tangled with her tears.
“God, please save me,” she whispered. Fire. Hate. Rage. They all coursed through my veins. I felt ablaze. I clawed at my arms, struggling to get the feeling out of my veins. God? Save her? This simple, ignorant bitch.
“You naive, child.” I bent her down in front of the water. “There is no God to save you.” She glanced back at me, and another squeal escaped from her lips.
“But the devil. Well, he’s here, and he’s waiting for you.” I took out a knife from my pants pocket. The knife was small, about the size of a Swiss army knife, but it was sharp. Sharp enough to cut into flesh. I lifted her shirt, exposing her white fleshy stomach. Taking the knife and pressing it against her stomach I watched as the red dripped down her skin. She struggled against me, threatening to mess up the thin red lines I was trying to form. I stopped as she continued to fight me. Her restraints were loose now, and she stared at me, fear and confusion causing her eyes to widen. I felt the anger building in my body, threatening to boil over.

8. What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
I write in the evenings mostly as I teach about 4 college courses a week!

9. Do you have any writing rituals?
Caffeine and music! The music helps set my mood for a scene. Often, I will have a song on repeat!

10. What book are you reading now?
Without You by Lindsay Detwiler

11. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
I promise I’m not crazy and thanks for giving my books a chance!

Random Questions:

1. What’s in your fridge right now?
Tons of Coke Zero because I’m addicted, snacks for my daughter, Almond Milk, yogurts, lots of eggs and bacon and tons of wilting fresh vegetables because I have the best intentions to cook but I order out more than anything else J

2. What song do you sing at the top of your voice every time you hear it?
I do not like Justin Bieber as a person, but I cannot help but sing along with his song, Sorry. My daughter and I belt it out-every single time!

3. Other than writing, what special or unusual talent(s) do you have?
I love to sing and act. I was a Theatre Arts Major before I switched to Forensic Psychology. I travelled to Paris, France and studied at the La Femis Film School my senior year of high school!

4. Where did you last go on holiday?
Cape Cod, Mass.

5. If feral aliens attacked your house and they were zapping your home with their Über super bombs, what five items would you save?
Haha. I wouldn’t be saving anything; someone would have to save me!

You can find Genevieve curled up reading paranormal romance and romantic thrillers, or frantically typing her stories on her laptop.

Psychology is her trade by day, teaching and molding the minds of college students. Her interest in psychology can be seen in her books, each including many psychological undertones. Although she loves teaching,  her passion, her true love, lays in the stories that roam around her in head. Yes, they all come from her mind--the good, the bad, and the totally insane.

She lives in Massachusetts--no not Boston-with her husband, daughter, and American Eskimo dog. With each story she shares, she hopes her love for writing and storytelling seeps through, encompassing the reader and leaving them wanting more.
